Battle of Britain Memorial
Posted by Webmaster on Monday, July 18, 2011
The ‘Fly With a Spitfire’ flights will take place on: 30/31 July; 14/15/16 September: 14/15 October. On 15 September the Hurricane will be taking part as well for Battle of Britain day. Villagers might like to pop along to the Memorial and enjoy a free air show as the Spitfire interacts with the helicopters. Any donations to the memorial are gratefully received.
The Memorial site desperately needs a few more volunteers to man the Visitor Centre, selling souvenirs, drinks and ice creams, etc.. It’s a chance to meet very interesting people from all over the world, some of them descendants of those who flew in the Battle. Hours are to suit, either all day (11 – 5), or am or pm.
It is rewarding, especially if you have an interest in Fighter Command or anything RAF in WW2.
If interested please contact our site manager, Ray on 07741166722.
