Campaign for New Bus Route
Posted by Peter Jones on Thursday, April 16, 2009
A new bus route has been suggested.
It has been suggested that a new bus route (to Folkestone Town Centre), continues along Hill Road, into Canterbury Road and then into town, in addition to the Dover Road route.
We now have three buses an hour, and if one of these followed this new ‘proposed’ route it would cover:- Wood Avenue Library, Two Doctors Surgeries (St. Saviours & Downs Road), Chemist, Post Office, Greengrocers, Bakers, Hospital, Sports Centre, Railway Station, then travelling into the town centre.
At present the route we have covers none of the above services, except the town centre.
Our Parish Council has backed this proposal, and the more residents who write a letter requesting this service, the more chance we have of getting it. If you are interested in supporting this idea please write to:-
Mark Spratt, Operations Manager, Stagecoach in East Kent, Folkestone
The more letters they receive, the more chance we have of achieving this proposal.
We have also started a petition, which can be signed at the Farmers’ Market or the Community Afternoon, although individual letters do tend to have more impact.
