From the Vicarage
It’s been a tad chilly of late but the good news is that Rolo and I can now do a circuit of both fields behind Capel Village Green in twenty minutes – it used to take forty minutes so we must both be getting fitter! The garden is looking rather drab but exciting things are happening below the surface and the broad beans and onions have poked their heads out. Here’s hoping I didn’t plant the daffodils and tulips too deep!
With the New Year we are looking at developments within the Benefice and we are building a ministry team, which will enable me to make contact with more people through the four who will be working with me. Raye Luckhurst, Theda Malloy, Helen Scopes and Keith Hughes are all undertaking training with the diocese. They will be able to visit and take communion to people at home in each of the parishes under my leadership. This will mean that more people will have visits than is possible at present. I hope you will feel able to make suggestions as to how we might further develop this in the coming year.
On February 8th at 11 a.m. the Brownies are coming to St. Radigund’s for their parade service with Pastor Colin and the congregation of the Baptist Church. This will be a Christingle Service and the Brownies have been busy preparing for it. Christingle celebrates Christ as the light of the world and his saving grace hence the orange to represent the world, the red ribbon for Jesus death and the candle to shed light on us all. The Brownies will be taking part in the service and we look forward to welcoming them. I hope that parents and grandparents will come along to support them as both the girls and their leaders have taken a great deal of effort to get everything ready for this occasion.
